Western Story was primarily a Pulp about the Old West but it did include some Northerns in that designation of “Big Clean Stories of Outdoor Life”. It began in 1901 as a dime novel called The Buffalo Bill Stories.then Buffalo Bill Weekly. It became a true Pulp in 1919 and ran until 1954. In the later issues, Northern covers were very rare but always featured a smashing painting for a Kenneth Gilbert, Franklin Richardson Pierce or Robert Ormond Case story.
